Symptoms
The spectrum is wide: some people hardly feel anything, while others are severely disabled. The most common symptoms are

Endometriosis can also reduce fertility. Many sufferers also report psychological distress, such as fatigue, stress, or symptoms of depression.

Diagnosis
On average, it takes 6–8 years to get a diagnosis
The diagnosis includes
A detailed discussion about symptoms and pain
A physical examination (palpation) of the vagina and rectum
An ultrasound of the vagina and abdominal wall
If necessary, further imaging procedures such as MRI or colonoscopy
For a definitive diagnosis, surgery with tissue sampling from the pelvic cavity is usually necessary.
Treatment
There are various treatment options, which are mainly based on the symptoms. For example:
Surgery
Pain management with medication
Hormone therapy
Nutrition
Psychotherapy
Exercise and relaxation therapy
The appropriate therapy depends on the individual symptoms and circumstances. It is important to consult with the treating physicians.
